Reigning in Ohio's K-12 testing requirements: HB 74

Testing hours have more than doubled in recent years.  This bill pulls back by about 50 percent.  In addition, it takes another step to shift away from the PARCC testing that was developed independent of our state legislature and more recently somewhat co-opted by our federal government.

The bill has a theme of more flexibility and local control in testing.

The bill passed the Ohio House today by a vote of 92-1 .
